There’s no better place to enjoy your vacation than a casino in Las Vegas. Casinos across Las Vegas offer a fairly standard range of games like craps, slots and poker, but if you’re looking for something extra, it certainly pays to do some research. For example, if you love live keno or bingo, you’ll probably want to locate a casino group such as the Las Vegas Sands Hotel and Casino. Casinos are a great place to gamble for fun or to make some extra money.
With so many casinos to choose from in Las Vegas, it can be a little overwhelming to choose one. Here’s a quick breakdown of the most popular Las Vegas casinos by location:
MGM Grand Las Vegas is located in the heart of the strip. If you’ve ever been to Las Vegas, chances are that you were introduced to this incredible establishment through either a loved one or friend. The grand casino building is one of the best attractions of Las Vegas and houses some of the finest gaming equipment on the planet. It also houses two world class casinos: the Bellagio and the Venetian. This allows visitors to try their luck at the famous “clark countydefunct closed” slot machines.
Located right next to the Bellagio, the Desert Inn Las Vegas is a classic example of a former grand casino facility turned into a hotel. Just a stones throw away from the Bellagio, you’ll find the newly renovated Desert Inn. It features one of the best dining options in town: World Class Pizza. All of the amenities of a top of the line casino are available at the desert Inn including casino bars and complimentary WEDF breakfast.
A short walk from the Strip, the Bellagio is a world famous gambling strip. Built in the 1930s by a man named Moses Mandell, the Bellagio has been a popular gambling venue for generations. The building was designed by none other than architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The casino itself is divided into seven different zones ranging from the main casino floor to indoor keno and river poker tournaments. Another great attraction in the Valley area, The Bellagio is considered to be the most beautiful casino in the world.
Just a short walking distance from the Bellagio, the Las Vegas strip once was home to the infamous Las Vegas “Gambling Cruises”. Gambling cruises were quite the rage during the latter parts of the 1980’s and into the early 1990’s. These cruises were shut down due to a lack of gambling opportunities and a lack of public funding. Instead, the city decided to renovate the entire strip and turn it back into a modern, sophisticated casino resort town. The casino tahoeformerly known as the Venetian Hotel and Casino has now been demolished and erected into a mixed-use retail and office building.
Just steps from the Bellagio and Las Vegas Strip, the Las Vegas Nevada Hotel and Casino were founded by Las Vegas Sands Corp. The hotel was built by Nevada Power and Light, now Tango Ring Casino. The old Venetian Hotel and Casino were torn down, but the buildings that surround it have still stood. The Venetian was turned into the Hilton Vegas and opened in January of 2021. The new hotel is managed by the same group that manages both the Bellagio and the Strip. Both resorts are operated by the Nevada Gaming and Resort Authority (NGLCA).
The Harrah’s at Las Vegas is currently undergoing renovation. However, the Strip has never opened, so this is technically a working structure. The Harrah’s was one of many remodels to renovate the entire Strip, which included the casino buildings and hotels. The Strip has undergone its own transformation, changing from being a gambling destination to an international tourist destination.
